This month I would like to share some information on an incredibly useful tool for clients undergoing cancer treatment and their support people. eviQ is a free, easy-to-access online resource that offers trusted cancer treatment protocols tailored to the Australian healthcare setting. Created by multidisciplinary teams of expert cancer specialists, eviQ aims to support health professionals and patients with up-to-date, evidence-based information—helping to reduce variation in care and improve outcomes for patients at every step of their treatment journey.
eviQ is endorsed as the preferred source of evidence-based cancer treatment information in Australia. Prior to commencing a chemotherapy or radiation therapy patients will be given a copy of an eviQ patient information sheet titled after their respective treatment protocol name and number outlining the treatment they will be receiving, side effects, other information, where to get help, general advice and further information. These information sheets can also be found online by visiting https://www.eviq.org.au/ and using the search bar in the top right of the screen to search the name of your treatment.
The ’Patients and Carers’ section on the eviQ site as indicated above also provides further useful information to people undergoing cancer treatment as well as their carers, families and friends including;
Patient and carer information is also available in other languages and there are a range of patient information videos available for viewing.
If you would like to discuss how to navigate this incredibly useful site further or come in for a demonstration with me or assistance in accessing information relevant to you, your family member or friend please give me a call anytime on 07 4032 0820 or email admin@couch.org.au
